Day to day wearing can lead to your jewellery slowly getting dirty and tarnished, even the old rule of 'last thing on and first thing off' doesn't save your piece from needing a clean from time to time.
How do I clean my jewellery you ask?
Read on and your jewellery will be sparkling in no time.
Firstly, what are we removing? Oils, dirt, perfume, chemicals/biofilm...your jewellery comes into contact with everything. Just like everything else around us it can build up and needs to be cleaned.
There are some options for cleaning...
1. Keep on top of it by washing your piece in soapy water using a soft cloth/flannelette. Pat dry with paper towel and then use a soft polishing cloth/flannelette to polish.
2. Go straight to one of our polishing squares to remove the thick layer of build up. If you like you can now repeat step 1 again to bring more lustre and shine to your piece.
3. Take part in our Mikah Care Club. Twice a year we open our studio to you! You can send your piece to us (with a return envelope) and we will buff and polish your piece bringing it to it's original state. You are notified of this via our newsletter. All cleaning can remove the oxidisation (blackening) of the text on your pendant, we will reoxidise every piece that we receive as part of the Mikah Care Club.

We do not recommend silver dips or abrasives. These can damage your piece either during the cleaning process or after if not neutralised.
It is quite simple to keep on top of keeping your piece of Mikah Hand Stamped Jewellery clean. If you are unsure or notice some surface scratches appearing from wear then we are always happy to help and bring your piece back to it's original condition.
